Gentoo Updating Network Manager

For those who uses network manager without gnome but uses other windows manager such as E17, then the old gentoo Network Manager package such as the version 0.6 is somehow working but a little buggy.
The most common bug is when you just boot up your computer and login to your desktop, sometimes the nm-applet just failed to show in your notification bar.
Thus needing you to restart the Network Manager from the init.d script. Although its just an annoying bug without any fatal effect, but still its quite annoying to repeat the process which it should be automatically done by the init.d script and Network Manager openrc script.
Anyway, updating to newer version of Network Manager such as the the 0.7.1-r2 did managed to eliminate the bug.
Not to mention the new feature of the new version such as the connect to VPN, DSL and mobile connection.
During the upgrading process, I noticed that now the Network Manager seems got a new flag to enable dhcpcd or dhclient as the dhcp client to fetch your dhcp information for the ip to use in the network interface. Though its not harmful in the upgrade process since I already have dhcpcd installed as dependencies from the old Network Manager, I think it could be a problem for a fresh install if one should forgot to add the flag in the package.use, which can leave them without any dhcp client and no ip will be fetched in the connection process.
The final verdict is , if you need a good network connection manager or you have use the old network manager version, don’t wait any more and upgrade to this better and newer version for smooth network connection selection process.
